MA Podiatrist Delivers Commencement Address at BUSPM

Louis J. DeCaro, DPM, President of the American College of Foot and Ankle Pediatrics (ACFAP) and Barry Class of 1999 alumnus, recently gave the Commencement address to Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine (BUSPM). Dr. DeCaro stressed three key themes for becoming a successful podiatric physician. 1) Never listen to the naysayers, 2) how passion breeds success, and 3) the importance of empathy when dealing with patients.

Dr. DeCaro also told the story of his own journey into the field of podiatric medicine, and how and why he has specialized in podopediatrics. This year’s graduating class achieved something unique and impressive. They achieved the “Podiatry Trifecta.” 100% pass rate of Boards Part 2 both written and clinical, and a 100% residency match!
